Adult Protection Rotating

The Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 was introduced to protect Adults at risk of harm..

Each local authority in Scotland set up an Adult Protection Committee. The Committee is a multi-agency committee and they ensure that all local agencies involved work together and produce reports on the work that they do.

Below you will find some resources for professionals dealing with Adult Protection concerns - you should also check our Useful Resources page:

Adult Support & Protection Research Study- The Service User Experience

This pdf icon research study [385kb] was commissioned by the Glasgow Adult Support and Protection Service User Sub Committee in May 2014. The Adult Support and Protection Service User Sub Committee is a sub group of the Glasgow City Adult Protection Committee and it was set up to make sure that the service user's voice is heard and informs the work of the Adult Protection Committee.

Ekosgen researchers were commissioned to carry out the pdf icon research [385kb] which had the aim of gathering service user's views on the ASP process.

As a result of this pdf icon Study [385kb] there are two main recommendations which the Service User Committee will pursue:

  1. Produce a leaflet, which can be given to service users at the start of the ASP process
  2. Create an evaluation questionnaire for all service users who go through the ASP process
